What the numbers mean
Across ~35,000 e-commerce brands, Meta's 2026 median CTR rose to 2.19% and CVR to 1.57%, while CPM climbed ~20% to $14.19. Despite the higher CPM, CPA stayed almost flat at $38.19 and blended ROAS landed at 1.86x — because better targeting lifted click-through and conversion enough to absorb the cost increase.
Year-over-year change
CTR +13.5%, CVR +8.3%, CPM +20% (from ~$11.82), CPA roughly +1%, ROAS ~1.86x.
What changed in 2026
The flat CPA against a 20% CPM increase is the story of 2026: Meta's Andromeda delivery engine improved buyer-matching, so brands paid more per impression but reached better-fit shoppers. ROAS leaders include Automotive (~2.54), Sports & Outdoors (~2.28) and Travel (~2.25); Media & Publishing trailed (~1.17).
How to act on this
Stop optimizing to CPM in isolation — judge accounts on CPA and blended ROAS/MER. Feed clean purchase events via the Conversions API; Andromeda rewards strong signal. Note Meta's March 2026 attribution recount lowered reported click-through ROAS without a real performance change.
